About the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) exists to make dental care more affordable and accessible for Canadians who don’t have private dental insurance. Many Canadians skip their dental visits because of cost. The CDCP is meant to help uninsured individuals and families receive general and emergency dental care.
Who’s Eligible?
- Canadian residents with a household income under $90,000
- No access to other private dental insurance
How Much Is Covered?
- Under $70,000: 100% coverage at CDCP rates (no copay)
- $70,000–$79,999: 60% coverage (40% copay)
- $80,000–$89,999: 40% coverage (60% copay)

- Book Your Appointment – Exams, cleanings, or urgent care—we’ll schedule what you need.

What’s Covered by CDCP?
The CDCP provides extensive coverage across general dentistry needs. The amount of coverage provided by CDCP varies based on your household income and the type of treatment you require. Here’s a detailed rundown on CDCP’s coverage for children, adults & emergency visits:

Exams & X-Rays
- New Patient Exam: 1 per lifetime at a single office (or 1 every 12 months at a new office)
- Recall Exam: 1 every 12 months
- Specific Concern Exam: 1 every 12 months
- Emergency Exams: No limit
- X-Rays: 1 full mouth every 5 years, 8 individual every 12 months & 1 panoramic every 5 years

Hygiene Services
- Routine Cleaning: 1 every 12 months
- Deep Cleaning (gum therapy): 1 course every 12 months
- Additional treatment may be covered with pre-authorization

Dentures
- Complete Dentures: Covered every 8 years
- Partial Dentures: Covered every 5–8 years depending on type
- Repairs/Additions: 1 every 12 months
- Most denture work requires pre-authorization

Crowns
- 4 crowns within 10 years per patient
- 1 crown per tooth every 8 years
- Crown repairs/re-cementation: 1 every 3 years
- Pre-authorization required for eligibility

Fillings
- All teeth covered, once per tooth every 2 years

Root Canal Treatment
- First-time Root Canals: Covered for all teeth, no pre-authorization
- Re-treatments: 1 per tooth, lifetime limit, pre-authorization required

Dental Sedation
- Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation covered
- Up to 4 sessions every 12 months
